Jeanette M Smith, CTA, ATT
Jeanette Smith is a member of the Association of Tax Technicians and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1993. Jeanette trained with KPMG and went to become a member of the management team advising owner managed businesses in tax matters. She joined Peter Howard & Co as a Tax Manager in 1997 and was appointed a partner in 1998 and heads up the Tax team.
Jeanette advises clients through the life cycle of a business, from initial start ups to shareholder exit planning, providing practical tax planning solutions for the myriad of issues that arise. She has a special interest in property tax planning, with expertise in buy to let, furnished holiday lettings, private residence relief and development and investment issues.
Jeanette has a busy family life with two daughters, two dogs and one husband. Unfortunately she has left her baton twirling skills behind after winning Majorette of the Year in 1979 but her Radio Luxembourg appearance has stood her in good stead for her annual expert Budget commentary on local radio station, Stray FM.

Simon C Foreman, FCA
Simon Foreman heads the Accounts, Audit and Business Advisory team, together with specialist Medical Accounting Group. Qualifying with an independent Leeds firm in 1984, Simon then joined Coopers & Lybrand to specialise in audit. This was followed by a position as senior Audit Manager at Pannell Kerr Forster before joining Peter Howard & Co as a partner in 1998.
Aside from being an Audit Specialist, Simon is particularly interested in assisting clients to raise finance and produce business plans. He loves to works closely with business managers and provides advice on strategic, financial issues to improve profitability.
Simon is keen golfer, plays off 12 and is often seen on the course at Pannal Golf Club. When not wielding a club, he enjoys travel and Dales walking with wife Gillie and their two teenage children.

Catherine Stork CTA, ACA
Catherine Stork has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 2005, qualifying with an independent firm and winning a regional prize for her results in the qualification examinations. A Chartered Tax Advisor since 2007, Catherine joined Peter Howard & Co in 2008 from a niche tax boutique which offered tax consultancy and tax strategies and specialised in company reorganisation and employee share schemes.
Catherine's joint accountancy and tax background places her in a strong position to advise a wide spectrum of businesses, from fledgling enterprises to established family owned concerns. Catherine specialises in expat and residency taxation advice, IR35 issues, share schemes and company reorganisations.
A passionate fashionista for high heels, Catherine has been dubbed Harrogate’s own Imelda Marcos!

Justine Stalker ACA
Justine trained with KPMG and qualified as an ACA in 2002, specialising in tax. From 2004 with Pricewaterhouse Coopers working with a diverse range of businesses, mainly retail and property groups, sectors that feature strongly in the Peter Howard & Co client base. In 2007 she joined Ernst and Young where her focus was tax planning, restructuring and complex tax issues.
Justine values working with owner managed businesses; building strong working relationships, really knowing the business and providing an umbrella of services tailored to the client strategy. Growing specialism in accountancy makes this increasingly difficult to find in large accountancy firms.
Living in Harrogate, where her husband owns his own business, Justine has two small children, a son aged 4 and a toddler daughter. Family matters and extensive building projects have meant less time for her interest, running. However, local and community events see her in a number of guises - most recently as Catwoman!
